scope of the project
The roads will be bitumen surfaced and with The Shama Junction- Shama road inclusive, it covers a length of ten kilometers of the Inchaban Hills road, five kilometers into the Inchaban town and the Shama Junction- Shama road, which is five kilometers. Major drainage systems along the roads and some parts of the towns will also be constructed.
Hon Ato Panford, MP for Shama Constituency, Hon Joseph Amoah, district chief executive for shama, representatives and engineers of Messers MYK Construction Limited and Messers SAMPREK Limited are already bringing stakeholders on board to help identify problems that are possible to occur as a result of this project. In an interview, Hon Ato Panford said that other roads in the district will be fixed this year.
“On the feeder roads too, we have two major roads that are coming on immediately- the Apemanim Junction to Abotarye town, and then Aboadze to Aboase; which passes over the storm drain being constructed at Obodo by the Ministry of Works and Housing ” he said. He stated that the contractors have been given the task to hasten the process of the project.
Hon Joseph Amoah said he expects good and quality work from the contractors considering the fact that sometimes some road after being constructed becomes impaired only months or a few years after completion. He pleaded that the communities bear with them as they may be affected during the construction process. he said “Because we are beneficiaries of these projects, we should own it and give the contractors the needed support”
